Vorpommern Initiative for Paludiculture

The project VIP-Vorpommern Initiative Paludikultur consisted of:

  • Development of new options for material and energetic utilization
  • Development and application of adapted harvesting techniques
  • Analyzing legal, socioeconomic and agricultural policy framework
  • Analyzing ecosystem functions (impact on biodiversity and climate)
  • Analysis of profitability
  • Consulting farmers and decision makers
  • Dialogue with regional stakeholders and citizens
  • Shaping national and international framework
  • Developing pilot projects for Belarus, Indonesia and China
  • Studying adaptability and sustainability of paludiculture.


Partners

Additional to eight research facilities there were five companies and two consulting firms engaged in the project. From the beginning additional partners from practice enabled us to test and implement paludiculture.
