Structure

The project aimed at bringing together three major fields of research, energy & water management and land use, by linking these overlapping clusters. Sections of these clusters were dealt with by the individual project partners who contributed their respective expertise and methods.

  • Cluster I - large-scale urban and landscape planning projects with a focus on optimisation of energy efficiency of existing and new residential and industrial buildings.
  • Cluster II -  case studies dealing with technical, organisational, ecological and legal issues concerning the sustainable management of water and energy resources
  • Cluster III - evaluation of technical, ecological, economic, legal and sociological aspects of the project
  • Cluster IV - project coordination



Target groups


The project aims at establishing a dialogue with the relevant target groups and organisations to ensure active participation and the successful realisation of all objectives:

  • representatives of real-estate and housing industries, municipal utilities/water and power suppliers and waste disposal companies, agricultural and forest industries
  • land owners, residents, farmers
  • private and public associations/organisations, urban and regional development trusts
  • federal and state ministries, community associations and administrative departments
